About Elleqin
Hi, my name is Elleqin. I know it’s probably a name you have never heard before. My mum and dad were insanely creative; they found an elongated version of the name in a fairy encyclopedia, changed a few letters around, took some out, and created the name I couldn’t be prouder of.
I grew up in Denmark, a small town at the southern tip of Western Australia, where music, the ocean, and creativity shaped everything I knew. Photography and videography connected with me more deeply than anything else ever has, they became my way of seeing and feeling the world.
That connection led me to create Elleqin Media, where I blend my love for the ocean with my passion for visual storytelling. I create ocean-inspired imagery for musicians, performers, couples, brands, and adventurers, capturing raw movement, atmosphere, and the way sound itself can roll off someone like waves.
Whether I’m shooting by the coast, near water, or at inland events, I bring the ocean’s energy into every frame: its power, its peace, its constant flow. The sea isn’t just a location, it’s the pulse behind everything I create.
The Journey
My first photoshoot was when I was seven years old. Armed with an old phone in a drummer’s backyard, I directed my mother’s band for promotional photos, telling them where to stand, how to pose, completely in my element.
Years later, I was at a gig when I met another photographer. We started shooting the bands together with a point-and-shoot, just playing around. Then he handed me his professional camera and told me to take a few shots.
Everything clicked into place.
It felt like a door I didn’t know existed had suddenly opened. I knew, instantly and completely, what I was meant to do. I bought my own camera the next week and never looked back.
I began creating visuals that provoke emotion, photos and videos that pull people out of reality, even if just for a moment.
Within weeks, I’d booked my first client. Within months, I’d found my signature: bringing the ocean into everything I shoot.
I have as much love for the sea as I do for my craft, so merging them felt inevitable. I capture musicians as if the sound waves from their music were washing over a crowd. I photograph lovers’ raw emotion and passion by bodies of water. I shoot brands along the coastline. I work on land, in the water, and beneath the surface.
Photography has pushed me into experiences I never imagined possible. It’s taken me on adventures to incredible places around the world, all in pursuit of creating something that matters.
